Reportero Bilingüe is a community program designed to encourage bilingual youth to be proud of their heritage and language.
Students are nominated by their teachers and then apply to have the opportunity to interview a Portland Timbers player, Portland Thorns player or a member of the coaching staff. Following the interview, the selected students are required to write a report about the experience in English and Spanish that will be posted on the Portland Timbers website and social media outlets.
To be eligible, students are required to complete the application form, be nominated by a teacher/counselor and attend one of the participating schools of the César E. Chávez Leadership Conference.
The deadline for submitting applications is January 15, 2016.
Applications can be found on the CECLC website at www.cecleadershipconference.org/portland-timbers-reportero-program.
